Best Bollywood Movies of 2020

As 2020 is remembered as most tragic and strangest year through out the world, people were not bound to see movies. Where in the first 3 months of year everything was going as is considered normal with multiple theatrical releases, the pandemic changed the entire landscape of movie releases and strategy followed by various production houses. While big commercial films are waiting for mass release, lesser known movies have been provided a world wide platform through OTT platform.

Let's see the best 2020 movies of Bollywood that kept audience entertain.

1. Malang

Directed by Mohit Suri with ensemble cast, is a crime thriller revenge film. Though suffering from several loopholes in its plot and weak character choices but holistically turned out to be quite an entertaining commercial film. Enhanced by the performances and the development of intrigue with its unpredictable and non chronological screenplay, Malang turned out to be quite an enjoyable movie.

2. Panga

The most understated and convincing storyline starring Kangana Ranaut, Richa Chadda and Neena Gupta, Panga is also an enjoyable film with taste of sports. The family dynamic and what the story represented really stayed with the audience as it is not a regular sports drama with stereotypical storyline showing problems of the athlete but about a sports person who is being supported by every kith and kins.

3. Thappad

A film that went through polarizing reactions mainly due to the association of creators with the project was the Anubhav Sinha directed film Thappad. A film that throw its powerful writing communicated so much about the gender biased institutionalized sexism as well as the basic existence of mutual respect and understanding of content of a relationship. A film that does not take the snowflake of demonizing men with broad strokes of evil but to self reflect on why we are the way we are.

4. Bulbul

A completely misunderstood film criticism of the film expecting it to be a conventional horror film was Bulbul. A film that has to be revisited to understand its subtle subtext and deep social context of each character. It was truly a thought provoking and compelling film with some great performances.

5. Lootcase

A breeze and effortlessly hilarious film with a story of the fate of a man bumping into a suitcase filled with cash only for absolute chaos to ensue due to several parties and their vested interests which include politicians, cops and local gangsters formed a genuinely funny ride with brilliant performances by the star cast.
