One of the most fascinating aspects of Bollywood is the missed opportunity that actors have in their long careers. These tend to create hypothetical scenarios which makes audience wonder about if the actors had said yes to the film. How their careers had panned out and how the movie would have been considerably been different from what the mass had witnessed.
Lets see 5 Bollywood actors who refused to do some famous movies.
1. Bharat and Priyanka Chopra
One of the most talked about role rejections of recent years was the drama surrounding the 2019 film Bharat. Priyanka Chopra was locked in for the lead role but opted out of the film extremely close to the time it was going on the floors for its first schedule. Initially Chopra opted out of the film due to the limited screen time but later it was revealed that it may be due to her marriage with Nick Jonas.
2. Ranbir Kapoor and Delhi Belly
One of the best film of last decade which is still not celebrated enough. Intentive funny and extremely surprising, it had all the elements of a great comedic thriller. It also provided a great platform for Imran Khan as an actor who was otherwise in most of the films after his debut criticized for the lack of range he possessed. The original choice however of the lead role was Ranbir Kapoor and it made everyone wonder in retrospect how fun it would have been to see Kapoor in a world like Delhi Belly.
3. Kangana Ranaut and Padmavat
A movie embroiled in controversy Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial Padmavat was a visual spectacle. Where Ranveer Singh got all the praise and love as the antagonist and deservedly so, there was little praise for the convincing performances of Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. The film surprisingly was initially offered to Kangana Ranaut who clarifies nothing developed after the narration of the script. Ranaut would definitely had given justice for the role.
4. Hritik Roshan and Main Hoon Naa
One of the biggest commercial success of 2004 which instantly connected with the masses and provided a huge platform for young actor like Zayeed Khan who played the role of SRK's younger brother. Actually Zayeed Khan was not the first choice for the film as director Farah Khan had envisioned Hritik Roshan initially but who had become a star after Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, and didn't want to do a double hero role. Farah even approached Farhan Akhtar, Sohail Khan, Abhisekh Bachchan which she dished out out in an interview with Rajeev Masand.
5. Ranveer Singh and Bombay Velvet
A lot of people remember Bombay Velvet for only the financial disaster as it was, being over exposure of the Anurag Kashyap's world, the film presented some breathtaking cinematography, performances and characterization. But the lead role was initially offered to Ranveer Singh who rejected the role on the grounds of not connecting with the material and definite bullet dodge for Ranveer and Ranbir is even today hilariously questioned about the film.
